How It Works
Ordertune prepares the signal. You release the order.
The route has three stops: the signal on t1.ordertune.com, the Ordertune Bridge on your own machine, and Trader Workstation, which hands the order to your Interactive Brokers account. The release in between is yours, every time.
01 · Time
About an hour. Mostly once.
Most of it is a one-time setup: a machine that stays on, six settings in Trader Workstation, one pairing code. After that, your daily work is reading the signals and releasing the ones you want.
02 · Paper first
Start with your paper account.
Every step is identical for a live account. A mistake in a paper account costs nothing. Switch to live when the first paper order has gone through cleanly.
03 · Your keys
Your broker password stays with you.
Ordertune never asks for it and never stores it. The Bridge runs on your machine, next to Trader Workstation, and only picks up what you have released.
Overview · 1:12
The route, in 72 seconds.
What happens between a signal and a filled order, who holds which key, and how to plan your first setup. Watch this first, then follow the episodes in order.
Six stops: plan and account, machine, Trader Workstation, Bridge, strategies and size, first release.
One rule: nothing moves until you release it.
Step 1 of 6 · 2:09
Your plan and your account.
Every Ordertune account starts free. Order Management, where you release orders, is a paid feature. Pick a plan, then switch on two-factor authentication: no broker connection without it.
Plan: Subscription, compare the plans, pick one. One month at a time, cancel any time with effect at the end of the paid month. Every paid plan includes the Ordertune Bridge.
Two-factor: Settings, Security, Enable MFA. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, enter the six-digit code, verify.
Recovery codes: save all ten somewhere safe. Each works once. You will not see them again.
Step 2 of 6 · 3:44
A machine that stays on.
Trader Workstation and the Bridge have to run whenever the market is open. A laptop that sleeps sends nothing. A small virtual private server (VPS) stays on for you.
Minimum requirements: 2 virtual CPUs, 8 GB memory, 40 GB disk. Trader Workstation is memory-hungry, so treat these as the floor. More is always better.
Operating system: Windows Server 2022 or newer, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or newer, or Debian 12 or newer.
The one habit: when you leave, close the remote desktop window. Do not sign out. Signing out stops Trader Workstation and the Bridge.
Step 3 of 6 · 5:22
Prepare Trader Workstation.
Six settings in four places, about ten minutes. This is where most first-time failures start, and where they are easiest to prevent.
API settings: Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients on, Read-Only API off, Trusted IPs 127.0.0.1. Read the socket port in the field and note it (TWS defaults: paper 7497, live 7496; the field is what counts).
Precautions and restart: Bypass Order Precautions for API Orders on. Auto restart at a time outside your trading hours.
Export directory: Trader Workstation writes your fills there every minute, and the Bridge reads exactly that folder. Defaults: C:\IBExport on Windows, ~/IBExport on a Linux desktop. If the Bridge cannot see your fills, compare this path first.
Step 4 of 6 · 6:59
Download, start and pair the Bridge.
The Bridge is a small open-source program that runs next to Trader Workstation. You pair it with your account using a ten-character code. No API key. No broker password.
Pairing: the Bridge window shows a code, valid for ten minutes. On t1.ordertune.com, Settings, Broker, type it in and check the computer name and hardware against your Bridge window. Only ever confirm a code your own Bridge is showing right now.
Port: Search for TWS offers the port that answers. Click Use this.
Where you release: the Bridge Cockpit only reads. You release every order in Order Management on t1.ordertune.com.
Autostart: set it up once on Windows or your Linux desktop, so both programs come back after a reboot.
Step 5 of 6 · 4:09
Choose strategies and position size.
Every strategy starts switched off. You decide which ones trade in your account, and how large. Switching a strategy on sends nothing.
Sizing basis: your live account equity, or a fixed base amount if you want to trade only part of your account. Start with a default position size of 3 percent.
Theoretical maximum exposure: every active strategy at its full number of positions at the same time. It is a technical ceiling, not the exposure you typically hold. Check it against your Interactive Brokers margin and your own risk tolerance.
Fine-tuning: the Model Performance sandbox lets you weight each strategy and watch the curve redraw before you apply it to your settings.
Step 6 of 6 · 2:49
Your first release.
A signal becomes an order at exactly one moment: when you click Release in Order Management. On your desk or on your phone.
Order states: Queued, Sending, At broker, Filled. A market order fills within seconds during market hours. A limit order waits for its price, and what is still open at the end of the day expires. That is normal.
Safety check: your Bridge recalculates the quantity against your live account value. If it differs by more than 5 percent, the order is refused instead of sent at the wrong size.
Changed your mind: while a row shows Queued, undo the release. Once it shows At broker, cancel it on that row.

No. Ordertune never asks for your Interactive Brokers credentials and never stores them. The Bridge runs on your own machine and connects to Trader Workstation locally. Pairing uses a ten-character code, not a password or an API key.

The Foundation. Start with Discipline.
Core is your entry into systematic trading. A curated selection of institutional strategies follows fixed rules on the Nasdaq-100. Every signal — every entry, every exit — appears in your Ordertune Terminal. Execution stays fully in your hands.
Who It's For: Core suits smaller portfolios and anyone who wants to start trading systematically. As your capital grows, Advanced spreads the risk across a broader selection of strategies. We don't sell financial advice; we sell a clear, repeatable protocol that you decide to follow.

The Professional Standard.
Advanced adds strategies with different approaches to the selection. That spreads the risk and is designed to smooth the equity curve. You release each signal yourself in the Ordertune Terminal. Only then does the bridge on your own server collect what you released and place the order in your own Interactive Brokers account. We never hold your broker credentials, and nothing is ever executed that you did not release.
The Requirement: You follow the rules, even when it feels wrong in the moment. Advanced is for those who trade with discipline, not for those who need to be right. All it takes is a cool head.

Built for Capital that Outgrows Single-Strategy Risk.
At higher capital levels, the same strategy set produces larger positions — and concentration, slippage and market impact start eating into your edge. Institutional Alpha addresses this with the full strategy portfolio: additional, weakly correlated strategies on both the long and the short side, built specifically for diversification at scale. More strategies, smaller per-position exposure, a smoother equity curve.
Who This Is For: This tier is for serious capital. Below roughly $200k, Advanced delivers the same core without paying for diversification you don't yet need. Above that threshold, the broader setup starts working for you. The short strategies require a margin-enabled brokerage account. Consistent adherence to the protocol is expected.
